Pour identifier les caractéristiques inhérentes à un tel type d'élevage, pour évaluer votre propre expérience en la matière et pour la consolider, nous vous proposons un concept „clé en main“ de l'élevage professionnel d'insectes.

Ce concept repose sur une combinaison inédite des pratiques de gestion de qualité selon A. Deming avec des éléments de sociologie des sciences et des techniques selon B. Latour. Grâce à cette perspective originale, nous mettons en lumière les points stratégiques qui structurent l'élevage professionnel, et nous identifions une méthode systématique de conduite des élevages qui permet d'obtenir et de maintenir sur le long terme une production d'insectes de qualité.

Dans ce concept, les tenants et aboutissants des questions suivantes:

A PROPOS DE L'AUTEUR

Benoit R. Sorel, est titulaire

• de la maîtrise de Biologie des Populaions et des Ecosystèmes, université de Rennes
• du D.E.A. Sciences, Technologie et Société : Histoire et Enjeux, université de Strasbourg
• du diplôme Agriculture Biologique et Filières, Formations Bio Sainte Marthe, Millançay

De 2008 à 2011 il travaille comme technicien spécialisé dans la section entomologie, aux laboratoires d'écotoxicologie Dr. Noack, Allemagne.
De 2006 à 2012 il élabore le site internet dédié aux contacts entre sciences naturelles et bouddhisme : www.science-and-buddhism.eu
A partir de 2012, il est enseignant suppléant en Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre. En parallèle il démarre une activité de maraîchage agroécologique et il fait des recherches épistémologiques en tant que libre penseur, afin de consolider la diffusion des techniques agroécologiques en France.

WHY ?

You want to start up a professional insect rearing?
You want to upgrade your rearings and you are looking for both theoretical and practical ways to innovate?
You want to increase the reliability and the adaptability of your rearings?

HOW ?

In order to identify the inherent characteristics of this sort of rearing, in order to evaluate and enhance your own experience in this area, we propose you a ready-to-use concept of professional insect rearing.

This concept is based on a unique combination of quality management practices according to A. Deming with elements of sociology of science and technology according to Bruno Latour. With this unique perspective, we can highlight the strategical points that structure the activity of professional insect rearing, and we can identify a systematic method of guidance that allows to set up and maintain on the long-term a production of high quality insects.

In this concept, the ins and outs of the following questions:

• How to use the entomological literature?
• How to adapt rearings to production specifications?
• How to identify and prevent major difficulties?
• How to manage the quality of the insects?
• How to create and preserve the know-how?

are explained on the theoretical level and illustrated with practical indications for the setup phase, the daily maintenance and the evolution of the rearings.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

• Diploma of Organic Farming, Formation Bio Sainte Marthe, Millançay

From 2008 to 2011 he worked as a technician in the entomology section, ecotoxicology laboratories Dr. Noack, Germany.
From 2006 to 2012 he developed the website dedicated to the contacts between natural sciences and Buddhism: www.science-and-buddhism.eu
From 2012 on, he is a substitute teacher in Life Sciences and Earth Sciences. At the same time he starts up agroecological production of vegetables and fruits, and as a free thinker he undertakes epistemological researches in order to consolidate the dissemination of agroecological techniques in France.
